Tips : Upgrade Your Drupal CMS To 6.9 and 5.15

The Drupal development team has recently announced the release of Drupal 6.9 and 5.15. Those two aren’t new full versions but offer bug fixes and have some security vulnerabilities cleared. The new Drupal 6.9 and 5.15 are now available for download. Most of the bugs and security issues reported by users and members of the Drupal community are fixed in the new releases. This makes the new releases more stable and secure. The CMS development team strongly recommends Drupal users to upgrade their versions with the latest installation. As fans of Drupal and supporters of Drupal project we also advise you to do so.

Some major security issues solved with the new release are:

  • Access Bypass – users with active “translate content” permission could bypass normal viewing permissions and gain access over unpublished or restricted content. This problem is fixed with version 6.9.
  • Validation Bypass – users with enabled pictures in their profiles could possibly enter invalid e-mails or user names. Also cleared in the new release.
  • Additional validation is added against possible SQL injection.
