Taxonomy is a way of classifying things. Don't let anyone confuse you taxonomy is very easy to use and powerful. It is one of the tools you need in your drupal arsenal.This drupal taxonomy tutorial is going to serve as an introduction to drupal taxonomy. The drupal taxonomy module is one of the core modules that come with your default drupal installation. It is an optional module and you need to enable it to use it. Why dont you do that now?
Go to Administer->Modules. Click the checkbox next to "Taxonomy" to enable the taxonomy module. Scroll down and click "Save Configuration".

Go to Administer->Taxonomy.

Click Add Vocabulary. A vocabulary acts as a container. It holds your terms.In this introductory drupal taxonomy tutorial we are going to use "Jobs" as our Vocabulary. We are building a site that allows companies post job ads for free. It is going to hold a list of different categories of jobs. e.g accounting job,engineering job etc.
