How To : Take control of your Drupal front page layout using contemplate and CCK

Wouldn't it be nice for me to be able to determine how my Drupal front page is going to look like? That is a question a lot of people including myself have asked at one time or another. You are tired of just having a list of teasers on your front page and want to see something more artistic. This is even more true if you know how to design web pages without using a Content Management System(CMS) like Drupal.

Fortunately you don't have to make do with a layout that you do not like! Can you Imagine! Drupal is so flexible that it allows you to achieve the desired look on your website. As usual, in Drupal there are more than one way of doing some of these things. Today I will show you how to customize a front page using the contemplate module and CCK module. Hopefully sometime in future I will show you another way of doing the same.
